Drawing up fresh ideas in Tyrol

The first joint Austrian Leading Sights Congress took place at Swarovski Kristallwelten in Wattens, Tyrol from 7-9 October 2020. Despite the challenging underlying conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, full and patron members were able to meet face to face to discuss the association’s objectives and quality criteria in a two-day workshop. Keynote talks by Head of Tourism and Regional Policy from the Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism Ulrike Rauch-Keschmann, Head of the Austrian National Tourist Board’s International Market Management Department Heidi Tscharf, and consultant, university lecturer and author Richard Bauer shed light on the status quo on the tourism industry and gave an insight into some of the measures planned for 2021.

In spite of the restrictions, participants were able to exchange ideas freely.

Looking out for one another in challenging times

This event clearly showed just how important it is for stakeholders in the tourism industry to get together even in difficult circumstances and create added value for all concerned. Keeping in regular contact and drawing up solutions together is one of the core principles of Austrian Leading Sights.
