25 Years of MQ with Enzi on Tour

A Journey to Austria’s Leading Sights

To mark the 25th anniversary of the MuseumsQuartier, a “punschkrapferl-pink” Enzi is embarking on a journey across Austria. In cooperation with Austrian Leading Sights, the MQ is sending one of its iconic pieces of furniture to numerous key cultural and tourism destinations throughout the jubilee year. Each host will utilize the Enzi in their own unique way before adding a colorful sticker to it. In this way, the Enzi will gradually transform into a nostalgic travel suitcase.

The journey is accompanied by a digital travel diary recording each stop along the way. Exciting insights into the respective host institutions will be shared via the MQ’s social media channels and the MQ website.

With the “Enzi on Tour” project, the Enzi itself becomes an ambassador, highlighting the significant role the MuseumsQuartier plays in Austrian cultural tourism. Simultaneously, the tour demonstrates the connection between these sights as central attractions for both national and international guests.

“Over five million people visit the MuseumsQuartier every year. In the past 25 years, it has developed into an open-minded, vibrant place for both locals and international guests, and today it is one of the city’s major cultural and tourism destinations,” says MQ Director Bettina Leidl.

“We are delighted about the joint ‘Enzi on Tour’ project for the 25th anniversary of MuseumsQuartier Wien,” emphasizes Association President Klaus Panholzer. “The journey of this iconic piece of urban furniture across Austria—visiting many of our country’s most significant sights—is a powerful symbol of cohesion within the Austrian tourism landscape. Perhaps the Enzi’s journey will inspire others to embark on their own voyage of discovery through Austria’s most beautiful landmarks.”
