Dom Museum Wien

Stephansplatz 6, 1010 Wien

The collections of Dom Museum Wien in the heart of Vienna’s historic city center are unique: the historic treasures of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, avant-garde classics from the legendary Otto Mauer Collection and contemporary art make for an inspiring visit. The museum’s recent architectural redesign features direct views of Vienna’s landmark, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and allows for an exciting juxtaposition of old and new. Upon entering the museum, a round glass elevator, encircled by an elegant winding staircase, takes visitors upstairs to the exhibition galleries, where, among other things, the oldest portrait of the Western World awaits: that of Hapsburg ruler Rudolf IV, from the 14th century.
