From September 30 to October 2, the Austrian Leading Sights Congress took place with the theme “Marketing of tomorrow – innovative into the future”.
On the occasion of its fifth anniversary, the congress took place in Vienna’s leading sights: the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, the Libelle in the MuseumsQuartier, the Leopold Museum, Schönbrunn Palace and Zoo and the Gloriette Schönbrunn. More than 100 guests from the sights, the ministry, the hotel industry and gastronomy came together to discuss the future of marketing and the tourism industry.
The 5th Austrian Leading Sights Congress was opened by President Klaus Panholzer, City Councillor Peter Hanke (President of the Vienna Tourist Board) and Ulrike Rauch-Keschmann, Head of Department at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy (BMAW). As part of the congress, the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), the Vienna University of Applied Sciences, the Austrian Hotel Association and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber provided in-depth insights into current trends and developments in the tourism industry. The focus was on topics such as reviews as a quality assurance tool and how to deal with reviews in order to highlight the importance of customer feedback for the further development of tourism offers. Future marketing strategies were also discussed to find innovative ways to effectively engage visitors. Another focus was on visitor experiences and expectations and the central question: What makes a tourist attraction special?
Since its foundation five years ago, the Austrian Leading Sights Association has developed into an important platform for the networking and further development of Austria’s leading sights. The cooperation of the most important players from culture, economy, politics and tourism has led to a series of successes that have strengthened tourism in Austria in a sustainable way. The congress provided an ideal opportunity to review the milestones achieved so far and at the same time to look into the future.
Special thanks go to all members and partners of the association as well as to all participants who contributed to an inspiring and successful event with their presence and contributions.
