St. Stephen’s Cathedral

Stephansplatz 3, 1010 Wien
St. Stephen’s is not only the urban center but, above all, the spiritual center of Vienna. It is furthermore considered to be one of the most important of all gothic cathedrals. The church is dedicated to St. Stephen, the first martyr, and is the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna. Whilst the external elements are clearly dominated by the medieval gothic style, the inside of the cathedral represents a far broader reflection of architectural styles and historical periods. From the point of view of the art historian, the tomb of Frederick III and the cathedral pulpit are of the greatest importance. We invite you to explore and discover one the most dignified and sacred of all church interiors.
